The National Bureau of Statistics Service Industry Survey Center and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing jointly released the diffusion index, which consists of 10 indicators: business activity, new orders, new export orders, backlog orders, inventory, intermediate input prices, charge prices, employment, supplier delivery time, and business activity expectations. Generally, an index of 50 or above reflects an overall rise or growth in the non-manufacturing economy; a value below 50 reflects a decline or fall in the non-manufacturing economy.
