According to its official website, starting February 15, 2024, SECO will release its Consumer Confidence Report monthly instead of quarterly. Since its inception in 1972, the Consumer Confidence Index has been released quarterly, primarily based on telephone surveys. After a comprehensive testing phase, SECO will now release a monthly report, with the survey conducted online only. The new survey format will also continuously collect data, rather than being limited to the first three weeks of each quarter. These changes will improve the relevance of the data for observing economic trends.
