[National Bureau of Statistics: Employment Situation Remains Generally Stable, with a Seasonal Rise in the Urban Surveyed Unemployment Rate] From January to August, the national urban surveyed unemployment rate averaged 5.2%. In August, the national urban surveyed unemployment rate was 5.3%, up 0.1 percentage point from the previous month and unchanged from the same month last year. The surveyed unemployment rate for the local labor force was 5.4%; the surveyed unemployment rate for the migrant labor force was 5.0%, of which the surveyed unemployment rate for migrant labor force with agricultural household registration was 4.7%. The urban surveyed unemployment rate for 31 major cities was 5.3%, up 0.1 percentage point from the previous month and down 0.1 percentage point from the same month last year. The average weekly working hours for employees in enterprises nationwide was 48.5 hours.
