[Barclays: The Fed's interest rate cut is a foregone conclusion, but the subsequent policy direction remains uncertain] The market generally expects the Fed to cut interest rates by 25 basis points this week, but there is still uncertainty about the direction of guidance after the policy is implemented. Marc Giannoni, chief US economist at Barclays, said that with inflation data still mild, the FOMC will judge that the downside risks to achieving the employment target are increasing. He added that the Fed's economic forecast report has hardly changed, but the dot plot will show three interest rate cuts this year (each 25 basis points), one in 2026 and one in 2027, and the median forecast for the long-term interest rate remains unchanged at 3.0%.
