Finland's inflation edged up to 0.5% in August. (1) Finland's CPI edged up year-on-year in August, from 0.2% to 0.5%. Prices for alcohol, tobacco, and narcotics rose by 4.93%, communications rose by 6.27%, and restaurants and accommodation rose by 2.27%. Clothing and footwear rebounded from a decline of -0.60% to 0.38%. (2) The growth rate for food and non-alcoholic beverages slowed to 2.58%, while transportation fell to 6.69%. Month-on-month, the CPI fell by 0.2% in August, compared to a 0.2% increase in July.
