Indonesia Announces Rp 16.23 Trillion Fourth-Quarter Economic Stimulus Package (⑴) Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economics Airlangga Hartarto announced on Monday that the country will launch a new economic stimulus package worth Rp 16.23 trillion (approximately US$989.3 million) aimed at boosting economic growth. (⑵) Hartarto told reporters that the stimulus measures are targeted for implementation in the fourth quarter of 2025 and next year. (⑶) Previous data showed that Indonesia's economy grew by 5.12% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, up from 4.87% in the first quarter, marking the fastest growth since the second quarter of 2023. (⑷) Economic growth was primarily driven by stronger growth in fixed investment and private consumption. (⑸) Despite facing headwinds from the new 19% US tariffs, the Indonesian government maintained its 2025 GDP growth target of 5.2% last month. (⑹) While lower than the 32% US tariffs threatened in April, the new tariffs remain higher than the previous average rate of less than 10%.
