Fujairah Bunker Fuel Sales Rise for Two Consecutive Months] ⑴ Marine fuel sales at the UAE's Fujairah bunkering port continued their upward trend in August, increasing by another 1.5% month-over-month to 650,500 cubic meters (approximately 644,000 tons), a four-month high. ⑵ Low-sulfur fuel oil and marine gasoil combined reached 461,900 cubic meters, up 6.1% month-over-month. High-sulfur bunker fuel sales fell 8.2% to 188,600 cubic meters after reaching an 18-month peak in July. This was due to a narrowing of the high-sulfur to low-sulfur price gap in August, which shifted from a sharp widening in July. ⑶ Market sources indicate that the low-sulfur bunker fuel premium remained firm in early September, reaching a year-to-date high. The suspension of Sudanese crude oil imports has led to a slight shortage of feedstock for UAE refineries, and the supply of low-sulfur bunker fuel is expected to tighten slightly.
