Wheat Export Forecast Raised, Inventory Warning Signal Emerges (⑴) The French Ministry of Agriculture (FranceAgriMer) recently raised its forecast for French wheat exports outside the EU for the 2025/26 fiscal year, from 7.5 million tons in July to 7.85 million tons, indicating continued optimism about overseas demand for French wheat. (⑵) At the same time, the agency maintained its forecast for French wheat exports within the EU for the 2025/26 fiscal year at 6.74 million tons, slightly higher than the previous forecast of 6.72 million tons, indicating stable demand within the EU. (⑶) Notably, France's estimated ending stocks for the 2025/26 fiscal year have been lowered to 3.64 million tons, down from the previous forecast of 3.87 million tons. This reduction in stocks may provide support for future market prices. ⑷ In addition, in terms of other grains, France's ending stocks of barley in 2025/26 are expected to be 2.19 million tons, a slight increase from 2.19 million tons in the previous year, while corn ending stocks also rose slightly to 2.23 million tons, indicating that the supply of other grains is relatively abundant, which may partially alleviate market concerns about wheat.
