Argentina's securities regulator (CNV) has reminded brokerages that they must disclose losses exceeding 15% of equity – a regulation designed to force brokerages to restructure their capital when necessary. Pablo Repetto, head of research at Aurum Securities, said: "In an environment of uncertainty, significant fluctuations in the peso interest rate have led to mediocre performance across the industry, and brokerage losses have exacerbated the increasingly pessimistic financial and political situation under the Mille administration."
