The London stock market rose on the 18th. The Financial Times 100 index closed at 9,228.11, up 19.74 points, or 0.21%, from the previous day. All three major European stock indices rose. The top five gainers on the London Stock Exchange were chemicals company Croda International (up 4.69%), Polar Capital Technology Trust (up 3.44%), hazardous materials testing company Halma (up 3.36%), asset management company Intermediate Capital Group (up 3.09%), and Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust (up 2.65%). The top five losers were Endeavor Mining (down 3.93%), clothing retailer Nexter (down 3.54%), advertising and media giant WPP (down 2.44%), Vodafone Group (down 1.70%), and Associated British Foods (down 1.55%).
