Japan's Nikkei Stock Average continued its upward trend and hit a new record high in early trading on Friday, with the Bank of Japan expected to maintain its current policy. Japanese stocks also rallied after Wall Street saw another record-breaking trading day overnight following the US Federal Reserve's interest rate cut and the Fed's forecast for further easing this year. The Nikkei 225 rose 1% in early trading to 45,750.05, reaching a high of 45,852.75. The broader Topix index rose 0.8%, also reaching a record high. The Nikkei closed above 45,000 for the first time on Thursday. 183 stocks in the index rose, while 41 declined.
