[Malaysia raises October crude palm oil reference price, export tax remains at 10%] According to foreign media reports, a statement released by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) on Friday showed that the country has raised its October crude palm oil reference price. This price level will keep the export tariff rate in the 10% range. As the world's second largest exporter of palm oil, Malaysia's October reference price is calculated at 4268.68 ringgit per ton (about US$1015.87). The reference price in September was 4053.43 ringgit per ton, resulting in a tariff of 10%. According to the country's export tariff, when the price of crude palm oil is in the range of 2250 to 2400 ringgit per ton, an export tax of 3% is levied. When the price exceeds 4050 ringgit per ton, the highest tax rate of 10% applies.
