Netanyahu is unhappy with Hamas' response, but has no alternative. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believes Hamas's response to Trump's proposal is "mostly negative," but he believes he has no choice but to cooperate with Trump's efforts. A source close to Netanyahu was quoted as saying, "They see it as a primarily negative response. But they are still cooperating with Trump's efforts because they see no other options." Sources close to Netanyahu also revealed that he was surprised by Trump's overwhelmingly positive response, as Hamas had only conditionally and vaguely accepted the proposal Trump put forward on September 29th. The report also noted that Netanyahu was politically intent on appearing to be "grudgingly agreeing" rather than "actively pushing for it," as the two far-right parties in his ruling coalition are firmly opposed to ending the war.
