The 55th Chairpersons' Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) decided to submit the draft amendment to the Maritime Code and other items for a vote at the NPC Standing Committee meeting. The 55th Chairpersons' Meeting of the NPC Standing Committee was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the afternoon of the 28th. Chairman Zhao Leji presided over the meeting. The meeting heard reports from Xin Chunying, Chairman of the NPC Constitution and Law Committee, on the review of the revised draft amendment to the Maritime Code, the revised draft decision on amending the Organic Law of Villagers' Committees, the revised draft amendment to the Organic Law of Urban Residents' Committees, the revised draft decision on amending the Cybersecurity Law, and the revised draft decision on amending the Environmental Protection Tax Law. The meeting also reviewed the voting drafts of the relevant drafts. The meeting also heard reports from Liu Qi, Secretary-General of the NPC Standing Committee, on the review of the results of the deliberations on the proposals submitted by representatives of the five special committees of the NPC, namely the Supervisory and Judicial Committee, the Finance and Economics Committee, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee, the Environmental and Resources Protection Committee, and the Social Development Committee. The Chairpersons' Meeting decided to submit the aforementioned draft items for a vote at the closing session of the 18th session of the NPC Standing Committee. (Xinhua News Agency)
