[Wang Wentao: Actively Expanding Independent Opening-up, Promoting Innovative Trade Development, and Expanding Space for Two-Way Investment Cooperation] In a recently published supplementary reading of the "Suggestions of the CPC Central Committee on Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development," Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao published an article entitled "Expanding High-Level Opening-up." Wang Wentao pointed out that actively expanding independent opening-up, promoting innovative trade development, expanding space for two-way investment cooperation, and jointly building the "Belt and Road" initiative with high quality are the main tasks for comprehensively implementing the expansion of high-level opening-up. He emphasized optimizing and upgrading goods trade, expanding intermediate goods trade and green trade, promoting trade digitalization, cultivating new drivers of foreign trade, and promoting market diversification and the integration of domestic and foreign trade. He also stressed actively expanding imports, improving the level of import trade facilitation, cultivating national import trade promotion and innovation demonstration zones, and promoting balanced development of imports and exports.
