[EIA: US Oil and Gas Production Hits Record High in August] Data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) shows that US oil and gas production remained at a record high in August, despite concerns that the market is heading towards oversupply. Record US oil production is one of the main reasons for the decline in commodity prices this year. EIA data shows that US crude oil production increased by 86,000 barrels per day, reaching a record 13.8 million barrels per day.
