[Trump Says Military Strike Possible Against Nigeria] On November 2nd, while en route from Florida to Washington aboard Air Force One, US President Trump, answering media questions, stated that the US military might send troops or launch airstrikes against Nigeria to prevent what he called a "mass killing of Nigerian Christians." When asked by accompanying reporters whether he was considering sending ground troops or launching airstrikes against Nigeria, Trump replied, "Possibly, I mean, there are other options, I've considered many possibilities… We will not allow this (mass killing) to happen." The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on November 1st stating that Trump's remarks were inaccurate. The statement said that under President Tinub's leadership, Nigeria has consistently been committed to combating terrorism, promoting interreligious harmony, and protecting the lives and rights of all its citizens.
