[Georgia's Inflation Rate Rises to 31-Month High] ⑴ Georgia's annualized inflation rate rose to 5.2% in October, a further increase from 4.8% in September, reaching its highest level since March 2023. ⑵ The increase in restaurant and hotel prices widened to 7.3%, while the increase in alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices rose to 5.6%, becoming the main driving factors. ⑶ The decline in clothing and footwear narrowed to -0.7%, the decline in transportation narrowed to -0.8%, and the decline in household equipment and maintenance narrowed to -2.2%. ⑷ Inflation in food and non-alcoholic beverages slightly decreased to 11.7%, healthcare inflation fell to 8.9%, miscellaneous goods and services inflation fell to 4.2%, education inflation fell to 2.1%, and housing and utilities inflation fell to 0.4%. ⑸ The decline in cultural and entertainment prices widened to -2.1%. ⑹ After seasonal adjustment, consumer prices rose 0.6% month-on-month in October, continuing the expansion from 0.5% in September.
