[Turkey's Inflation Rate Falls to Nearly Four-Year Low] ⑴ Turkey's annualized inflation rate fell to 32.87% in October, continuing its slowdown from 33.29% in September and below market expectations of 33.2%, marking the lowest level since November 2021. ⑵ The price increase for food and non-alcoholic beverages narrowed to 34.87%, housing prices fell to 50.96%, clothing and footwear prices fell to 7.98%, and household equipment prices fell to 28.9%. ⑶ The price increase for healthcare fell to 32.06%, communication prices fell to 19.35%, education prices fell to 65.69%, hotel, coffee shop, and restaurant prices fell to 33.78%, and miscellaneous goods and services prices fell to 30.13%. ⑷ The price increase for transportation widened to 27.33%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices rose to 27.56%, and cultural and entertainment prices rose to 25.32%. (5) After seasonal adjustment, consumer prices rose 2.55% month-on-month in October, a significant drop from the eight-month high of 3.23% reached in September, and lower than the market expectation of 2.83%.
