[Swiss Inflation Falls to Four-Month Low] ⑴ Swiss consumer prices rose 0.1% year-on-year in October, lower than the market expectation of 0.3%, and further slowed from September's 0.2%, reaching the lowest level since June. ⑵ Clothing and footwear prices fell 0.4%, household goods and services prices fell 1.8%, and transportation prices fell 1.7%, which were the main drags. ⑶ Cultural and entertainment prices rose by 0.7%. ⑷ Alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices rose by 1.2%, education prices remained at 2.6%, and restaurant and hotel prices remained at 1.3%. ⑸ Core inflation, excluding unprocessed food and energy, fell to 0.5%. ⑹ After seasonal adjustment, Swiss consumer prices fell 0.3% month-on-month in October, a larger drop than the market expectation of 0.1% and September's 0.2% decline.
