[Poland's Manufacturing Sector Contraction Narrows More Than Expected] ⑴ Poland's October manufacturing PMI rose to 48.8, an improvement from September's 48.0 and slightly higher than the market expectation of 48.6, reaching its highest level since April. ⑵ The decline in output and new orders both slowed, with purchasing activity returning to growth for the first time in five months. ⑶ The rate of job losses accelerated, reflecting weak demand and a reduction in backlogged jobs. ⑷ Export orders continued to decline, but at the slowest pace in six months, with weak demand in Western Europe remaining a major constraint. ⑸ Input costs fell for the third consecutive month, while factory gate prices saw their fastest decline since November 2024. ⑹ Business confidence rose to a seven-month high, with manufacturers generally expecting output to grow over the next year, driven by new investment, product launches, and a recovery in demand.
