[FTSE 100 Rises on Monday] ⑴ The FTSE 100 extended its gains on Monday, supported by financial and energy stocks after rising 3.9% in October. ⑵ Standard Chartered rose over 2%, Prudential gained nearly 2%, and Legal & General rose 1.6%, with the market widely expecting the Bank of England to keep interest rates unchanged on Thursday. ⑶ Energy stocks strengthened along with rising oil prices after OPEC+ decided to suspend planned production increases. ⑷ Shell rose nearly 1%, and BP gained over 1%, after agreeing to sell two U.S. onshore assets to private equity firm Sixth Street for $1.5 billion. ⑸ BP will retain operational control through its subsidiary BPX Energy, but its stake in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford midstream assets will decrease.
