[Thailand expects the United States to offer a "very favorable" trade deal after Thai-Cambodian ceasefire] Thailand's acting Prime Minister Putan said that Thailand expects the Trump administration to offer Thailand a "very favorable" trade deal after agreeing to end armed border clashes with Cambodia under a U.S.-backed peace initiative. Putan spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump hours after Thailand and Cambodia jointly announced an "immediate and unconditional" ceasefire. Putan told reporters late Monday that the U.S. president appreciated Thailand's agreement to end the five-day conflict. Previously, Trump had threatened to block a trade deal with the two Southeast Asian countries unless the two sides stopped the violent conflict.
