[Japanese beverage giant considers raising prices in the US and planning other markets] Japanese beverage giant Suntory will consider raising prices for its super-premium whiskey exported to the United States based on consumer sentiment, after the two countries reached a trade agreement that will impose a 15% tariff on imported Japanese goods. The company's chairman and CEO Takeshi Niinami said on Tuesday that the company may still consider raising prices for its premium whiskey series in the United States, and believes that the company is overly dependent on the US and Japanese markets and realizes the importance of emerging markets including China, Southeast Asian countries and India.
