[The State Administration for Market Regulation relaxes the age limit for special equipment inspection and testing personnel to 63 years old] ⑴ On July 22, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued the "Special Equipment Inspector Assessment Rules (Amendment No. 2)" and "Special Equipment Nondestructive Testing Personnel Assessment Rules (Amendment No. 1)", extending the upper age limit for special equipment inspection and testing personnel to 63 years old, and simultaneously optimizing the application conditions and examination organization form. The new regulations will take effect on the date of issuance. ⑵ By the end of 2024, there will be 137,000 special equipment inspection personnel certificates and 304,000 nondestructive testing personnel certificates in the country. As the core of special equipment safety technical guarantee, such personnel must be certified to work. ⑶ In recent years, the State Administration for Market Regulation has strengthened assessment management, promoted computer-based examination reforms, and piloted AI intelligent proctoring. In 2024, relevant personnel have discovered and urged the rectification of more than 3 million safety hazards, significantly improving the safety level of the industry.
