[National Energy Administration: Striving to Ensure Peak Summer Power Supply and Demand Situation is Controllable] Liu Mingyang, Deputy Director of the Electricity Department of the National Energy Administration, stated at a press conference on July 31st that power supply is generally guaranteed during the peak summer period. During the peak summer period, if multiple regions experience simultaneous high temperatures, national power load is expected to exceed 1.55 billion kilowatts. High temperatures are expected to continue in early August. If extreme weather conditions or widespread, continuous high temperatures occur, the pressure on power supply security will increase further. Currently, national power supply is generally guaranteed. Peak power supply is tightening in some provinces in East China, Central China, and Southern China, but this can be effectively managed through the implementation of relevant measures. Going forward, the National Energy Administration will strengthen monitoring and analysis of power supply and demand, enhance peak generation capacity of conventional power sources, optimize power resource allocation, and provide province-by-province guidance for power supply assurance. The goal is to ensure peak summer power supply and demand is controllable and within control, resolutely adhere to the bottom line of no power outages, and ensure electricity supply for people's livelihoods.
