(2) Growth in capital goods (+1.2%) and durable consumer goods (+0.2%) offset declines in other categories, with semi-durable and non-durable goods (-1.2%) falling for the third consecutive month. (3) Seventeen of the 25 industrial sectors expanded, led by automobile manufacturing (+2.4%); however, mining (-1.9%), petroleum products (-2.3%), and food (-1.9%) dragged down overall output. (4) Industrial output fell 1.3% year-over-year, compared to a 3.3% increase in the previous month.
