[Source: US sanctions force ships carrying Russian oil to reroute from India] According to trade sources, LSEG trade flow data shows that after the United States imposed a new round of sanctions, at least two ships loaded with Russian oil and originally scheduled to be shipped to Indian refineries have been rerouted to other destinations. Sources said that the Aframax tankers "Tagor" and "Guanyin" and the Suezmax tanker "Tassos" were originally scheduled to deliver Russian oil to Indian ports in August. After being sanctioned, the Tagor and Tassos were both rerouted. The US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on more than 115 individuals, entities and ships related to Iran this week, some of which were involved in transporting Russian oil. At the same time, US President Trump urged countries to stop buying oil from Moscow and threatened to impose a 100% tariff on countries that buy Russian oil unless Russia agrees to a major peace agreement with Ukraine.
