Two-Year UK Gilt Yields Fell About 7 Basis Points on US Non-Farm Payrolls Day. At the close of European trading on Friday (August 1st), the UK 10-year gilt yield fell 4.1 basis points to 4.528%, marking a 10.8 basis point drop for the week. The two-year gilt yield fell 6.8 basis points to 3.793%. Before the release of the US non-farm payrolls report at 8:30 PM Beijing time, it reached a daily high of 3.917%. Following the release of the data, it plunged to near 3.840%. Following the release of the US ISM manufacturing index at 10:00 PM, it hit a daily low of 3.790%, marking a 9.0 basis point drop for the week. The 30-year gilt yield fell 9.1 basis points, while the 50-year gilt yield fell 7.2 basis points. The 2-year/10-year gilt yield spread fell 2.009 basis points to +72.978 basis points.
