[Five reservoirs in Beijing's Pinggu District are still releasing water] The Pinggu District Water Affairs Bureau of Beijing announced on August 1st that, due to the impact of the previous round of heavy rainfall and upstream water inflow, the five reservoirs in Pinggu District, namely Haizi, Xiyu, Huangsongyu, Yangjiatai, and Huayu, are still releasing water. The discharge flow has decreased, and the rivers in the entire district are in a state of receding water. After the heavy rainfall, the levees were soaked in high water levels for a long time, and the water content of the subsoil increased significantly, which weakened their stability. The waterside slopes are extremely prone to collapse and landslides, and pipe bursts are prone to form near the toe of the waterside slopes. We hereby remind all citizens that to ensure the safety of you and your family, please stay away from flood channels, reservoirs, rivers, levees, and other water-related areas. Do not engage in activities such as playing in the water, fishing, or staying in these areas to prevent drowning.
