Chongqing issues a Level 2 Heatstroke Alert as Daily High Temperature Exceeds 40°C (114°F) - From July 31st to August 2nd, Chongqing experienced widespread, persistent high temperatures. Eight districts and counties, including Yuzhong, Nan'an, Dadukou, Jiangbei, Liangjiang New Area, Tongnan, Fengjie, and Wuxi, as well as parts of the central urban area, saw daily highs exceeding 40°C for three consecutive days. From August 3rd to 6th, Chongqing is expected to continue experiencing sunny, hot, and high temperatures, with highs exceeding 37°C in most areas. In 35 districts and counties below 400 meters above sea level, including Yuzhong and Shapingba, daily highs could reach 40-43°C, making heatstroke extremely susceptible to the risk. The Chongqing Municipal Health Commission and the Municipal Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a Level 2 Heatstroke Alert at 2:00 PM on August 2nd, reminding relevant regions and units to follow the Level 2 emergency response requirements for heatstroke, strengthen monitoring and reporting of heatstroke cases, and provide treatment for patients. They should also promote heatstroke prevention and cooling awareness through various means, and provide consultation and preventive medication for those working in high-temperature environments.
