Swedish Budget Watchdog Raises Deficit Forecast for 2025: (1) The Swedish National Fiscal Administration (ESV) projects a public deficit of -1.5% of GDP in 2025 (instead of the previously released -0.4%), a widening from the -1.4% forecast in June. (2) The public deficit for 2026 has been revised to -0.7% of GDP (instead of -0.2%), a significant upward revision from the -0.3% forecast in June. (3) The agency forecasts a public deficit of 100 billion Swedish kronor (US$10.72 billion) in 2025, equivalent to 1.5% of GDP. (4) This forecast is wider than the 90 billion kronor (1.4% of GDP) forecast in June.
