Kosovo's Harmonized Inflation Accelerated to 4.5% in August. (1) According to the Kosovo Statistics Office, the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) rose 4.5% year-on-year in August, accelerating from 4.3% in July. (2) Increases in electricity prices and package holiday packages were the main drivers, contributing 17.1% each to the increase, followed by coffee, tea, and cocoa (16.7%), fruit (16.6%), and meat (12.4%). (3) Month-on-month, consumer prices rose 0.5% in August, accelerating from a 0.2% increase in July. (4) Kosovo's HICP is projected to rise 1.6% for the full year 2024, down from a 4.9% increase the previous year.
