The newly revised Arbitration Law will take effect on March 1, 2026. The 17th session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress voted to approve the newly revised Arbitration Law on September 12, which will take effect on March 1, 2026. The newly revised Arbitration Law stipulates that arbitration activities can be conducted online through information networks, except where the parties explicitly express their disagreement. Arbitration activities conducted online through information networks have the same legal effect as offline arbitration activities. The state supports arbitration institutions in strengthening exchanges and cooperation with overseas arbitration institutions and relevant international organizations, and actively participating in the formulation of international arbitration rules.
