Institutional survey: The median forecast of 12 economists predicts that the Bank of England will reduce its bond holdings by £67.5 billion between October 2025 and September 2026. Of the 67 economists surveyed, 42 expect the Bank of England to cut interest rates by another 25 basis points to 3.75% in the fourth quarter of this year; 22 predict that interest rates will remain unchanged. UK GDP growth rates are projected to average 1.3% in 2025 and 1.2% in 2026 (compared to 1.1% and 1.2%, respectively, in the August survey).
