Deutsche Bank now expects the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates three times this year, down from two previously. Deutsche Bank economists have raised their forecast for the number of Federal Reserve rate cuts in the remainder of 2025 from two to three, citing a slowing job market and declining inflation. "Given recent data suggesting further weakening in the labor market and slightly weaker-than-expected inflationary pressures, we are bringing forward one rate cut originally expected for next year to this year," a Deutsche Bank team led by Matthew Luzzetti wrote in a report on Friday. Deutsche Bank now expects the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates by 25 basis points next week, in October, and in December. Previously, the Fed was expected to cut interest rates in September and then wait until December for another cut.
