U.S. health officials plan to include this statement in a report to be submitted next week to a key vaccine panel that will advise the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The committee plays a key role in determining vaccine access as it reviews immunization data and makes recommendations on who is eligible for the vaccine and whether insurance companies should cover them. A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said in a statement: "FDA and CDC staff regularly analyze VAERS and other safety surveillance data and share these review results publicly through established ACIP procedures." The spokesperson added: "Any speculation should be considered pure speculation until it is made public." Pfizer's stock price fell more than 3% during trading on Friday, while Moderna's stock price fell more than 7%. Novavax, which produces a protein-based COVID-19 vaccine, saw its stock price fall more than 4%.
