[Argentina condemns Israeli companies for operating in the Malvinas Islands] The Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the 12th, strongly condemning Navitas Oil Co., Ltd. for conducting illegal activities in the waters of the Malvinas Islands (known as the Falkland Islands in Britain). According to Argentina's "Horn" newspaper on the 12th, the company reached an agreement with the British company Rock Hopper Exploration Company at the end of 2021 to acquire approximately 65% of the equity in the Sea Lion oil field project in the waters of the Malvinas Islands, and formally completed the legal documents in 2022 to become the operator of the oil field. The statement from the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Navitas Oil Co., Ltd. illegally carried out hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation operations on Argentine territory without the permission of the Argentine competent authorities, in violation of UN General Assembly Resolution 2065 and relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly Special Committee on Decolonization.
