From September 12 to 13, 2025, Deng Xijun, Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Asian Affairs, visited Cambodia and met with Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, Ong Beisei, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Yi Sophie, and Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defense, Dalaros. Deng Xijun said that peaceful coexistence and cooperative development are in the common interests of the two countries and peoples of Cambodia and Thailand. China is willing to promote the implementation of the consensus reached by the foreign ministers of China, Cambodia and Thailand on tranquility, support Cambodia and Thailand in strengthening dialogue and consultation, support ASEAN in properly resolving disputes in the "ASEAN way", and is willing to continue to provide necessary assistance for achieving a sustainable ceasefire and promoting the improvement of Cambodia-Thailand relations (Ministry of Foreign Affairs website).
