Data released by South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT on the 14th showed that South Korea's exports of information and communications technology (ICT) products reached US$22.87 billion in August, an 11.1% year-on-year increase, setting a record for the same month. By export item, semiconductor exports reached a record high of US$15.11 billion, driving ICT exports to a new high. Communications equipment exports increased by 1.8% year-on-year, while monitor exports decreased by 9.4%, mobile phone exports decreased by 15.4%, and computer and peripheral equipment exports decreased by 16.6%. During the same period, ICT imports increased by 7.6% year-on-year to US$12.53 billion, resulting in a US$10.34 billion surplus in the ICT trade balance.
