UK employment increased by 232,000 in July, exceeding expectations. (1) UK employment increased by 232,000 in the three months ending July, an increase from the previous figure of 239,000, exceeding market expectations of a 220,000 increase, primarily driven by full-time jobs. (2) Year-on-year, employment increased by 654,000, with increases in both full-time and part-time employees and the self-employed. (3) The employment rate for people aged 16 to 64 edged up 0.1 percentage point to 75.2%. (4) The number of part-time workers increased to 1.301 million, representing 3.8% of the total employed population.
