Shenzhen Metro Ranks Among China's Top Three Cities in Passenger Traffic: The Ministry of Transport recently released the "August 2025 Urban Rail Transit Operation Data Quick Report." Two key indicators, subway station arrivals and subway passenger volume, garnered significant attention. Shenzhen, with 169.48 million arrivals and 300.13 million passenger volume, once again ranked third among major cities nationwide. Data from the first eight months of this year show that Shenzhen's key subway indicators have steadily improved, achieving a significant leap forward and officially becoming China's third-largest metro city. August's specific data showed that subway passenger traffic was: 323.38 million in Shanghai, 310.59 million in Beijing, 300.13 million in Shenzhen, and 288.99 million in Guangzhou. Subway station arrivals were: 180.33 million in Shanghai, 170.23 million in Beijing, 169.48 million in Shenzhen, and 154.43 million in Guangzhou. These two rankings remained consistent with July. In terms of subway passenger flow intensity, Shenzhen reached 16,300 passengers/km/day, ranking first in the country.
