[Zhang Yuzhuo, Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council: High-end, intelligent, and green development are becoming distinctive characteristics of central SOEs] On September 17, Zhang Yuzhuo, Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on the theme of "High-quality Completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan" that since the 14th Five-Year Plan, central SOEs have made new progress in building a modern industrial system. Central SOEs have adhered to their roots in the real economy, consolidated their advantages in traditional industries, nurtured the potential of emerging industries, and strived to open up new growth opportunities. On the one hand, the development of strategic emerging industries has been unprecedented. The Central SOE Industrial Renewal Initiative, the Future Industry Launch Initiative, and the Navigation Enterprise Cultivation Project have been implemented in new industrial sectors, with an average annual investment growth rate exceeding 20%. Thirty modern industrial chain leaders have actively played a supporting role and driven integration, creating a number of world-class industrial clusters in new-generation information technology, new energy, new materials, and high-end equipment. On the other hand, the pace of industrial transformation and upgrading has continued to accelerate, with special initiatives deployed, resulting in the deployment of over 800 application scenarios. Digital transformation initiatives have created 1,854 smart factories. Energy consumption per 10,000 yuan of output value and carbon dioxide emissions per 10,000 yuan of output value have decreased by 12.8% and 13.9%, respectively. Zhang Yuzhuo said that high-end, intelligent and green are becoming the distinctive features of central enterprises.
