FTSE 100 Index Tries to Rebound, UK Inflation Remains Flat at 18-Month High] ⑴ The FTSE 100 Index edged higher on Wednesday, snapping a three-day losing streak after falling 0.9% the previous session. British gas group Centrica led gains, rising over 3%, after Morgan Stanley upgraded its rating to "overweight" for the first time in two years, citing its capital investment in the Sizewell C nuclear power project and the Grain LNG terminal. The bank ranked it among its top UK utilities, noting its low yield sensitivity to recent UK government bond market volatility. ⑵ AstraZeneca's share price fell 0.7% after its asthma drug Fasenra failed to meet its primary endpoint in its second late-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) trial, raising concerns about its respiratory pipeline. ⑶ Data showed that UK CPI remained flat at 3.8% year-on-year in August, the same as in July and an 18-month high, in line with expectations.
