[Cotton stabilizes after hitting a three-week high, focusing on the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision] ICE cotton futures prices stabilized on Wednesday after hitting their highest point in more than three weeks, while traders awaited the widely expected U.S. interest rate cut later in the day. At 10:21 a.m. Eastern Time (14:21 GMT), the December CTZ5 cotton contract rose 0.07 cents, or 0.1%, to 67.75 cents per pound. Earlier in the session, the contract hit its highest level since August 25. Bailey Thomen, cotton risk management consultant at StoneX, said: "The market is mainly waiting for more guidance from the Federal Reserve to be announced later this afternoon. If the Fed does continue to cut interest rates, the market is waiting and digesting expectations of further increases."
