The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued a statement saying that the new regulations will modify the naturalization test content, requiring applicants to answer 20 knowledge test questions on American history, politics, and institutions from a question bank of 128 questions. 12 or more correct answers are required to pass. Previously, the test only selected 10 questions from a question bank of 100 questions, and 6 correct answers were required to pass. The revised test plan applies to applicants who submit naturalization applications after mid-October 2025.
