Eurozone current account surplus narrowed in July. (1) Eurozone data showed that the current account surplus fell to €35 billion in July 2025, down from €39.3 billion in the same period last year. (2) Of this, the surplus in goods fell from €35.3 billion to €27.9 billion, and the surplus in services fell from €20.4 billion to €19.9 billion. The secondary income deficit widened to €15.7 billion, up from €14.3 billion in the same period last year. (3) On the other hand, the primary income account recorded a surplus of €2.9 billion, compared with a deficit of €2.1 billion in the same period last year. (4) After seasonal adjustment, the current account surplus in July was €27.7 billion, down from €35.8 billion in the previous month and below market expectations of €34.6 billion.
