[National Cotton Production Expected to Hit a New High Since 2013] ⑴ The Cotton Farmers' Branch of the China Cotton Association announced the results of a survey conducted in August 2025, surveying 1,930 designated farmers in 10 provinces and municipalities nationwide, as well as Xinjiang, on cotton growth and yield. ⑵ The results show that the national cotton planting area reached 44.823 million mu (approximately 1.8 million hectares), a year-on-year increase. Benefiting from better-than-usual weather conditions and farmers' effective water and fertilizer management, cotton production is generally growing well. ⑶ Xinjiang's yield per unit area and total output both hit new record highs. The national total output is expected to be 7.216 million tons, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year, an increase of 321,000 tons from the previous estimate, and the highest level since 2013.
