[10-Year U.S. Treasury Yield Hovered Around 4% at the Open of the New Week] The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield hovered around 4% at the open of the new week, after closing below 4% for the first time in about a year last week. Investors remained focused on mixed signals regarding the crucial U.S.-China trade relationship, with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng set to hold talks this week. At the same time, however, the limited data available during the government shutdown suggested that U.S. economic fundamentals remained quite healthy, with solid third-quarter GDP tracking and state unemployment claims data pointing to lower layoffs. In latest trading, the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury yield was 3.995%, compared with a close of 4.006% last week. The two-year U.S. Treasury yield was 3.466%, compared with a close of 3.463% last week.
