[Spain's Economic Growth Slows Moderately in Q3] ⑴ Preliminary data from the Spanish National Statistics Institute shows that the economy grew by 0.6% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter, a slowdown from the previous quarter's 0.8%. ⑵ Spain's economy continues to outperform its Eurozone counterparts, mainly due to the post-pandemic tourism boom, a strong labor market driven by immigration, EU financial support, and cheaper energy. ⑶ The Q3 growth rate met analysts' expectations, driven by domestic demand, with consumption and investment maintaining growth amid geopolitical and trade uncertainties. ⑷ The government statement said this data reinforces the upward revisions of 2025 forecasts by major countries and international institutions, indicating that Spain will once again lead growth among major developed economies. ⑸ This marks the ninth consecutive quarter of GDP growth for Spain at 0.6% or higher quarter-on-quarter. ⑹ On an annualized basis, Q3 economic output grew by 2.8%, lower than the 3.0% expected by surveyed analysts. ⑺ The National Statistics Institute revised the Q2 annual growth rate from the previously announced 3.1% to 3.0%.
